AlphaFlow Trading Engine
A high-frequency trading dashboard utilizing WebSockets for sub-10ms data updates and complex visualization.
Project Overview
AlphaFlow required a real-time trading interface capable of processing and rendering hundreds of volatile asset prices simultaneously. We designed an event-driven front-end dashboard that connects to high-frequency WebSocket streams, updating tickers in real-time under heavy market loads.
The Challenge
Traditional rendering techniques in React triggered continuous re-renders of the entire DOM, clogging the main thread and causing the UI to freeze during high-volatility events. The client needed a way to stream sub-10ms updates to 50+ charts simultaneously without device lagging.
Our Technical Solution
We engineered a virtualized canvas rendering grid combined with a specialized state manager that isolates state updates to individual cells. By using web workers to parse incoming binary WebSockets messages off the main thread, we kept the main thread completely free for interactions and scrolling.
Key Achievements & Results
- Achieved stable sub-10ms UI updates across 500+ active tickers.
- Dropped main thread processor load by 68% during high-concurrency peak hours.
- Successfully handles 50,000+ simultaneous WebSocket connections per instance.
- Integrated zero-downtime failover with instant reconnection protocols.
“The technical depth shown by their team was outstanding. Re-renders are completely isolated, and the trading dashboard runs at a buttery-smooth 60 FPS even under peak load.”
